North Perrott booked their place in the semi-finals after holding their nerve in a dramatic quarter-final victory over North Curry, winning by just five runs in a contest that went right down to the final over.

Winning the toss and choosing to bat, Perrott posted a competitive 168-3 from their 20 overs. The innings was built around a superb unbeaten 73 from G Retter, who anchored the innings from start to finish with nine fours and two sixes. He was brilliantly supported by R Frost, whose fluent 59 from just 41 balls kept the scoreboard moving.
In reply, North Curry came out firing and looked well placed at several stages in the match. However, Perrott kept fighting and refused to let the game slip away.
S Rowswell was the pick of the attack with outstanding figures of 4-37, while M Downing claimed 2-22. There was also a wicket apiece for R Frost, M Bult and C Binns (all 1-27!) with sharp fielding and crucial catches helping to keep the pressure on. An outstanding diving catch by N. Malinga really helped in changing the game’s momentum.
With North Curry needing runs right to the very end, Perrott held their composure in a nail-biting finish to dismiss the visitors for 163, sealing a memorable five-run victory and a place in the next round.
A fantastic cup tie, played in great spirit and a performance full of character from North Perrott when it mattered most.
