After Taunton Deane chose to bat, D. Brain made an early breakthrough in the 1st over but with the score racing to 72-2 in the eighth over, Taunton Deane looked well placed to post a formidable total. The defining moment of the final then arrived when S. Rowswell claimed his 1st wicket, breaking the partnership, halting the momentum and swinging the game firmly back in Perrott's favour. From that point onwards, the bowlers never let up, with G. Retter (3-23) and S. Rowswell (3-32) leading the attack, while R. Frost (2-6 from his over) and K Subramanian (who only went for 9 runs in 4 overs) helped wrap up the innings as Taunton Deane were dismissed for 100.
The fielding was equally impressive, with every player contributing to a superb team performance. R. Frost was particularly outstanding, taking three catches and producing a run out to keep the pressure firmly on Taunton Deane throughout the innings.

Chasing 101, G. Retter and A. Payne gave Perrott the perfect platform with a positive, attacking opening stand - taking the game to Taunton Deane from the outset. After Perrott’s only wicket fell, Payne continued to anchor the innings with an unbeaten 50* while R. Frost struck a fluent 39* as the pair guided Perrott to 102-1 in just 12.3 overs to seal the Terry Mockridge Shield.

At the presentation the Player of the Match trophy was awarded to Sam Rowswell for his match turning wicket and bowling figures of 3-32.
