Perrott 1st XI 304-5 (45) bt Uphill Castle 1st XI 177-ao (38.1)

Perrott 1st XI travelled to Uphill Castle with a young squad, average age 22. We lost the toss and were put into bat. Perrott got off to a cracking start with 34/1 off 3 overs and 97/2 off 17. A short rain delay didn’t halt our batters and steady runs kept the scoreboard ticking over. An accomplished Innings for James S saw him score his second century of the season, losing his wicket in the 40th over on 106. Sam R 45no ( @tmcandc) ended the innings with a flourish from Alex P who put on a quick 19 off 13 to give Uphill 304 to chase.
Uphill lost several early wickets and looked in trouble at 49/7 in the 16th over. However they dug in and added another 128 runs before we eventually bowled them out, well-short of target, for 177. Pick of our bowlers were Sam 3/17 and Dan B 3/21 ( Beemster ) Perrott won the match by 127 runs.
