A mixed afternoon for North Perrott CC on Saturday, with the 2nd XI producing a superb all-round performance while the 1st XI endured another difficult result.
The standout performance of the day came from M. Mounde, who produced an absolutely sensational innings of 143 from just 91 balls, dominating the Purnell attack and helping the 2nd XI post an imposing 290-7 from their 40 overs. Excellent support came from O. Frost (41) before the bowlers completed the job, with C. Silk (3-11) and O. Copeman (2-33) leading the way as Purnell were dismissed for 196, securing a convincing 94-run victory.
For the 1st XI, it was another challenging afternoon as visitors Taunton CC posted 233 all out. Despite a determined effort with the ball from G. Retter (4-45) and D. Brain (3-18), North Perrott were unable to mount a successful chase and were bowled out for 105, with Retter (25) and Brain (19) the leading scorers.
While the 1st XI will be looking to regroup and bounce back in the coming weeks, the 2nd XI can take great confidence from an outstanding team performance highlighted by Mounde's memorable century.
